Peter Mather
Peter has had a long and distinguished career at BP and is stepping down this year as Head of Country, UK, and Regional President for Europe, in order to pursue other exciting opportunities. He brings with him an incredible 40 years of experience within the Energy Industry and is one of many senior leaders driving the transformation of BP into an integrated energy company with a clear goal of building infrastructure and IP in the renewable and low carbon protocol space.
He is a leader, and advocate for the race to ‘net-zero’ and is a firm believer in the acceleration of private capital towards those who are solving the complex issues of our time.
Peter firmly believes that the health of our planet and of the people on it are the two biggest issues of our day. In his bp role he has worked closely with government, as the public and private sector work together to achieve a sustainable future.
Peter's experience includes chairing and sitting on a number of internal and external boards; leading transformation and change, notably around the energy transition; government relations; media and crisis management; business development; community engagement/corporate sponsorship; and front line operational and commercial management.
Peter has an MA from Oxford and an MBA from INSEAD. He is married with three children, and his outside interests cover the arts and most sports, from tennis to triathlons.
